Patañjali’s Sūtras 34–39 outline methods to remove obstacles in meditation: calming the mind via breath control (prāṇāyāma), focusing on sense impressions, inner luminous light, non-attachment, dream and sleep states, or any preferred object. Mastery stabilizes the mind, leading to deep concentration, faith, and ultimately, samādhi.
